Because of research indicating that these ingredients are making kids sick, as well as in response to consumer demand, Wal-Mart, Coca Cola and the Mars candy company have removed artificial colors, sodium benzoate (a preservative) and aspartame from their products. But only in the U.K.
These ingredients have been linked to food allergies (at best) and even childhood cancer (at worst). But food manufactures haven’t removed from products in the United States because the FDA isn’t making them.

Here in the good ol’ US of A, they just slap a sticker on it that says “organic” and then slap themselves on the back. Meanwhile the FDA has no hard guidelines for what constitutes organic and what doesn’t. Free-market wizardry at work ladies and gentlemen.
